This song was written and sung by Sidney "Birdlegs" Banks. Pauline was his wife and they were based out of Rockford, IL. This was recorded circa 1963 for the Vee-Jay label but was never released until 2018. Pretty cool soul dance number in my estimation. They had one hit single for the Vee-Jay label in 1963 with the song "Spring" and that one featured duet vocals all the way through unlike this one which has Birdlegs singing lead.

Written by Kent Harris (aka Boogaloo) & recorded in 1956. The Coasters had a big hit (Shoppin' for Clothes) with this in 1960. A perennial M2M favorite but for some inexplicable reason I haven't played this in a couple of years.

RIP Roger Hawkins who played drums on so many great songs and with so many great artists. He just passed away at age 75 after a lengthy illness. If you've listened to M2M with any regularity at all, you have definitely heard Roger Hawkins whether you knew it ot not. To give the man his proper due, I have asked St. Louis drummer Spencer Marquart to select a number of songs featuring Roger Hawkins on drums. I figured he was the right person to ask because Roger Hawkins is definitely an influence on his playing.- Recorded at Muscle Shoals in 1969. Really great soul vocal on this 1967 song written by Dan Penn, Spooner Oldham, and Jimmy Johnson. The two snare hits by Roger Hawkins kicks the whole thing off and the drums are a big part in making this so special on what Spencer Wiggins considers one of his greatest singles.

Eli Paperboy Reed just released this version of a Bob Dylan song and he gives the song more of an R&B approach. It works.

Included with the re-release of their 1970 album is another disc which captures a previously unreleased concert recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in June, 1971. Rick Danko sings lead on this Four Tops song written by Ivy Jo Hunter and Stevie Wonder.

Recorded live in 1975 with the Rolling Thunder Revue. This is a faster version than the the album version on "Desire" and they just tear into it. Scarlet Rivera plays violin on this.

Melinda Cooper sings lead on all the tracks on this release and she wrote most of the songs but this particular song was written by Jenn Malzone of Middle Class Fashion. Town Cars and special guest Sandy Beaches will be playing at Off Broadway on Friday, June 18. This is a benefit for Tower Grove Park.
