Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers did a run of twenty dates at the Fillmore in San Francisco in 1997. Six of the shows were professionally recorded and are being released for the first time on November 25. These will be available in various formats and sizes and will include "re-arranged and distinctive versions of their hits, deep cuts, and many cover versions—paying tribute to the artists that Tom and the band had been influenced by." Benmont Tench gets to go nuts on piano on this great version of a J.J. Cale song.

RIP Mimi Parker who passed away way too soon at age 55 after a two-year battle with ovarian cancer. By all accounts, she was a beautiful soul. She and her husband, Alan Sparhawk, fronted the Duluth band and their harmonies put an indelible stamp on their music. This song is an absolute thing of beauty.

Mimi Parker sings lead on one of their more propulsive songs. And as the holiday season approaches, give Low's Christmas album a proper listen. Her vocals are the reason why this is one of the greatest Christmas albums of the last 25 years.
