Following a long career in on-air radio and television, and broadcast education, Jim retired and moved to Bloomington in 2023. His first job in broadcasting was as a student at Pensacola Junior College, working at WSRE-TV. The late-1970s through the mid-1990s were spent as a broadcaster with Armed Forces Radio and Television (the Philippines, Japan, and Korea), then as a broadcast instructor at the Defense Information School in Indianapolis. After retirement from the Air Force, he taught in media programs at the University of Central Florida and Butler University. Jim wrapped up his career as the manager of the television and radio stations at Palomar College in southern California. With degrees from Butler and IU, and over 25 years living in the Indianapolis area, he considers himself a naturalized Hoosier and is loving life in Bloomington. Jim began volunteering at WFHB in 2024.
