I got out to Bucks county for brunch yesterday and had fiddlehead ferns. The patches I've scouted in my woods are not yet ready for harvest

"Sounds of Sisso" the name of this album refers to Sisso Studios, where Jay Mitta is one of the main producers

Where did you go for brunch Krista?

We went to Barley Sheaf Farm in Holicong

They have a prix fixe menu for brunch. Well worth it.

Plus, the pigs and a couple sheep were out. We got to say hello.

O ya heard about them. We used to live 5-10 mins from there. As Ween would say it's.. ON BUCKINGHAM GREEN! well it's nearby that shopping ctr anyway

I've passed the shopping center but never visited

I plan on going for a nice walk down to the rescue farm about 1.5 mi from our place this eve. Go see my goats, pony, horses, donkey & geese & maybe heron friends. O ya I saw they recently got a 1/2 doz peacock or some colorful fowl. Hard to see from the road. But the other 4 legged friends all run right up to the fence to greet us each time

Oh that sounds great!! A couple donkeys live near me and 1 donkey is lucky. A double donkey day is very good fortune, indeed

I take many different back road routes specifically so my wife can see donkeys. Especially mini donkeys which are the best

My man does the same for me! it's a key to a good relationship

1 time we were driving in way north PA near the NY border &we stopped at a farm with about 50 mini donkeys. It was a little overwhelming for her but she loved it.

ponies are so nasty tempered (I still love them but wtf little dudes) and mini donkeys I've met have been really sweet

Driving around to find farm animals was one of me and Mrs Lagasse's premier early COVID activities! @Brian what is that rescue farm?? Or donkey place? Or northern pa donkey place?? Lol

There's a small farm up the street from me that we'd bike to almost every day to say hi to the animals, and then Mrs Lagasse did and AMAZING embroidery of us doing that, accurate down to the number of animals!

another time we were at the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival in way south Jersey & it was a real swampy rainy Labor Day weekend. We ducked out from the soggy tent the next day & grabbed a cheap motel room near the DE border. The motel was a big chain name but it was located on a dead end road in the country up against the interstate. Across the street.. 1 donkey named Pickle. She was pregnant. A good find

I was gonna play a different one by them but conversation forced me to the Black Goat

Also the Philly Goat Project at Awbury Arboretum is worth checking out for some free close up animal experiences

Chef: rescue farm is just private owners that take in all sorts of critters. Stone Bridge road at bottom of hill right where the so named bridge is closed for constr now. They do have a self named sign for their farm... not sure

Since that bridge is closed chef , you can easily park down there by the construction , the pond to visit the animals. Farm is right across from water station. I hear the bridge may open in June tho

My only donkey story is that my brother has a good friend who has two donkeys at his house. They are their pets. And yes, the friend and his family are life-long Democrats.

Gus is the name of the donkey at nearby farm. 1 time a goat was on hind legs trying to reach leaves on a tree w supple branches. He got his horns stuck for a bit and this brought the branch down low. Gus saw the opportunity & went right over to the leaves now at his level. Had a nice snack. Goat unhinged himself ok. Back to biz as usual. We were cracking up!

Haha. I have been walking/driving by the same donkey in Lawrenceville my whole life! An old friend, He always stands quite close to the fence, But never close enough.

I think we need a verbal reminder of what sounds a donkey makes!

sadly fot us but happily for him, Gus was moved to the back field last year because the younger animals were mean to the old guy. So we only see him from afar. I hope they might bring him back to the front field for spring summer tho. He loves being able to go to the pond. They put some BIG rocks right near the pond and the goats sometimes jump around on them, head butt each other etc... a nice imitation of mountain habitat ha

Oooo yes! I love these 2 Ry Cooder lps from this period. Paradise and Lunch. And Into the Purple Valley. Well... i love all Ry albums!

The 2 mini goats have an inner radar signal that says "assume the arcing, ballet move preceding the head butt mid air sequence...NOW!". So fun to watch. One has horns, one does not. That does not stop them. The little non -horned one has similar black & white coloring to a cow. Looks like a tiny cow from a distance

One of my friends texted me to tell me there are baby donkeys at a farm near my house. I know where I'm going after my show

There is a mostly instrumental Frank Zappa lp realeased in 2010s with some Tuvan throat singers on it. And several tracks with liquid sounds! Very prominent in the mix. Like pouring a large pitcher of water into a bowl sounds

I will check it out!

I read it was the last lp he completed in 1993 before he died and possibly the last time he played gtr was on 1 of the Tuvan singers ' tracks. Did not get realeased until years later. Very interesting headphone music. Or driving around in the rain music.

Have to check that out.
