Counting Satellites is inspired by my love of watching the sky in the early morning. My multi-genre themed playlists are designed to remind us of the wonder and mystery the skies offer us.
Back in the 80βs I had a friend take me to Pioneer Park to lay back in the grass and watch the skies to count satellites. Now I love to sit in the hot tub and count the satellites and meteorites. Additionally, I watch the constellations move through the sky by the season, the intermittent planets and my favorite thing to see in the sky is that random flare of light. When I see a random anomaly, I think I know itβs not a satellite, shooting star or planet and think it must be something elseβ¦ alone in the dark, I feel blessed to be part of something bigger than me. Like that I might be the only one on the
planet to see that flare. Or if someone else saw it, in another part of the world, it makes me feel connected to that person or even more far out, I may be the only person to see it except for the person who caused the flare/astral phenomena-linking me to them. To which I silently think, βI saw that, I saw you and Iβm here too!β
I watch the skies to feel connected and hope to see the magic Nature has to offer-I hope you βlook upβ and see some magic too. Nature never lets us down! β Tally Mark
