Acous country-blues/1928; He was from Avalon, MS he influenced many with his style of guitar playing/finger-picking style. In his early yrs he only had about 12 recordings and mostly played for local folks. Then Tom Hoskins, a music researcher found him and the next thing you knew, he was making more recordings and playing the Newport Folk Fest (this is a lovely box set, gifted to me by a sweet friend)

recorded 1952 King of Western Swing; He was a major influence and a great contributor of postwar country music; and esp known for writing the "Wild Side of Life" (refering to a woman being a Honkytonk Angel...and spending time in honkytonks ....(how dare them!) and then Kitty Wells came out with HER reply song "It Wasn't God Who Made Honkytonk Angels"

they were the backing group to Brook Benton! friends from boyhood in Detroit, first got together 1954. They recorded motown, r+b, soul

his son Eddy wrote this one...and of course he is the guitarist. Eddy died of an overdose at age 38 /2000 (always reminds me of JTE who died at the same age ...also by drug overdose) :( Eddy was a VERY talented guitarist

She combines Pop+Folk in her own style. This album is co-produced with Steve Fishell who is a grammy winner, studio producer, and toured with Emmylou Harris for 10 yrs as her steel player. I'm still listening to her songs....but, for now I really like the way she covers this (her favorite cover song) along with Steve's steel work is darn nice
