The U.S. National Park Service defines soundscape as "the relationship, mediated through sound, between living things and their environment." Sound can take on several identities, but music, to me, is the most powerful. Music, above all else, connects us, bringing us closer to both each other and to the environment(s) we live in. Soundscape FM aims to bring us one step closer to that connection. Each show will transport listeners to a particular international location, explore that region/city/country's musical history & significance, and jump right into a curated tracklist of some of that location's best sonic offerings (i.e. its soundscape). Soundscape FM will feature songs both about the location and by artists from the location. Through music, Soundscape FM will help listeners examine cultures both like and unlike their own––building community in the process. The Barnumbia community deserves a radio show actively and passionately devoted to cultivating musical connection across geographical boundaries. Enter: Soundscape FM. Let's take a journey.
