- circa November 1975: began listening to Top 40 radio, with intent. began collecting 7" singles soon thereafter.
- circa winter 1979: began listening to local college radio, WQSU at Susquehanna University.
- late August 1981: began Architecture program at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA.
- circa winter 1981: began listening to WRCT at Carnegie-Mellon University. Mind blown.
- June 1981: saw Mission of Burma, sponsored by WRCT, on an outdoor stage. My first show.
- circa summer 1983: began record hunting at Heads Together, Jerry's Records, and Jim's Records in Pittsburgh. Mind blown.
- June 1988: completed studies at Carnegie-Mellon University
- Halloween 1988: saw Sonic Youth Daydream Nation show in Cleveland, Ohio. My Dad is Dead and Laughing Hyenas opened.
- summer 1989: saw Sun Ra Arkestra perform at the "Homewood Jazz Festival?", outdoors, in a thunderstorm, with much lightning. Purchased several Saturn LPs from Marshall Allen.
- winter 1989 through summer 1990: Sonic Temple
- June 1990: House of Duh
- summer 1990: finally have adequate time and knowledge to get a show on WRCT, Saturdays 4-6am.
- fall 1990: "Eat Some Paste" with Steve S debuts on WRCT.
- fall 1990 through summer 1994: a WRCT Music Director
- circa 1991: Peas Kor Records
- late September 1996: final "Eat Some Paste" with Steve S.
- October 1996: move to Goleta, California. Began listening to KCSB.
- circa 2001: began helping KCSB News with Democracy Now! and Free Speech Radio News broadcasts.
- circa spring 2002: KJUC training
- circa summer 2002 through summer 2007: programmed various shows at different times on KCSB
- circa 2007?: Joyful Cosmos debuts Mondays 6 -8pm.
- Monday, 19 September 2022: Joyful Cosmos remains on the KCSB programming schedule...
