Fine singer and slide guitarist Shines was born in Tenn. in 1915 and died in 1992; from 1935 to 1937 he toured with Robert Johnson, and for a few years in the 1960s and 1970s with Johnson's common law stepson Robert Lockwood Jr.; Shines spent much of his life working construction and never gained as much renown as his contemporaries; a different Shines album just won the BluesBlast award as Historical Recording of the Year; this song was recorded in 1975
