This album was recorded in their legendary house, the temple of marimba, and feature their best songs. This is mystical Currulao music from deep into the jungle of the pacific coast of Colombia.

Special guest Donn Howell on Rebab. Gamelan Sinar Surya is a Santa Barbara arts organization dedicated to preserving, teaching, and performing traditional Gamelan music. Here the group presents a varied selection of pieces from the ancient Javanese kingdom of Cirebon. Examples from all five genres of Cirebon gong ensembles are heard, played in a spirited manner by a dedicated group founded in 2002 that works closely with musicians in Indonesia. Tratagan Wayang is associated with Wayang Kulit(shadow puppet theater),Wayang Cepak(rod puppet theater),and Topeng(masked dancing). Tratagan is played as part of the opening music to symbolically unlock the door to the world of the ancestors.

While the concept was started by one person in response to a singular situation, it fully came to life as a product of collective imagination. For the album, Steer sent a single guitar loop to twelve musicians from the extended network of his ANTIME label who improvised with the recording, which was later collaged by Steer into a single, 39 minute long piece.
