The Band - Time to Kill (Live)
The Band Time to Kill (Live)
Stage Fright [50th Anniversary Edition] Capitol Records 2020

Some notable things about this re-release of their 1970 album is that it contains the original song order of the album before it was changed for the official release by the record label and that it has been remastered and re-mixed by Bob Clearmountain. Some people will be happy about this and some people will not. But the best thing is that another disc captures a previously unreleased concert recorded at the Royal Albert Hall in June, 1971. The Band were at their peak at this time so this is a wonderful document and sounds really good even though it was only recorded on a four-track recorder.

7:55 AM
Gregg Allman - My Only True Friend
Gregg Allman My Only True Friend

This was Gregg Allman's final album and he knew it at the time it was being recorded at Muscle Shoals. He was in amazing voice for this and the album is made up of all cover versions of songs that, obviously, meant so much to him except for this one original that opens up the album. And what a moving and powerful song it is. Equals Warren Zevon's "Keep Me In Your Heart" in giving the listener an emotional gutpunch. Masterful.
