It's blues in the night, so that must mean an organ jam, an Oasis Jam, should start the show. I've heard oasis jam goes really well on Hawaiian bread, lightly toasted.

Lee Oskar's first foray apart from the band War. Oskar has always been a special sort of harp player, all about tone and taste.

From the mid-60s well into the '70s Buddy Rich explored all shades of funk and released some really terrific albums, and singles, too as this is a single.

Brand new music out of Chicago from Pierre Lacocque's long running revue/band. Lurrie Bell steppping up front on this one, vocally and on guitar.

A song about truth...but then, blues is truth. Rich McDonough on guitar, who worked with Keith on/off for years. For those not in the know, Keith Doder was probably the finest harp player to have ever come out of St. Louis, and one of the most skilled blues players anywhere during his time on this Earth.

This guy is groovy, bass voice and all. Really nice regional blues out of the Nashville area, with great songs and tasty harp playing.

Originally released on Savoy Records in 1966. As many of you know, Grant Green was born in St. Louis, year 1931. A very lyrical player, he didn't really listen to other guitarist for inspiration. Instead, he dug horn players.

Brother Jack released at least 8 LPs between 1960 and 1963, and they are gathered in this set. Oh man! 1 O'clock Jump come off his 1963 LP Screamin', w/ Leo Wright on Sax, Kenny Burrell on guitar, Joe Dukes on drums.

The ladies ruled this set, with Tia Carroll's tremendous break out album from 2021 closing out the set. If you dug this song, there are 10 more on the cd for you to savor.

This is a wonderful tribute from one brother to another. At times during Edgar's vocals on the album he sounds eerily like Johnny. On this one, though, Billy Gibbons sings it and Derek Trucks handles the slide work.

All Ronnie Earl does is keep producing tremendously soulful and tasteful blues albums, tinged with jazz. I'm thinking Earl should be officially named a National Treasure.

Originally released in 1972, Engineered by Rudy Van Gelder. Foster began as a traditional B3 player, but as the '70s dawned he moved into more avante garde leaning.

Let's give it up for one of St. Louis' finest vocalists, also a talented songwriter and all around good guy - Jeff Chapman and his Brother Jefferson outfit.

This is a brand new release of prime time Harman band recorded at a festival gig in Belgium. Sound is actually pretty good, and it captures Harman playing loads of harmonica throughout - something he didn't always choose to do (but he was very good at it!)

As hard as it might be to face your own calendar, yes, this album marks the 50th Anniversary of the band, and they celebrate with a a raucous roadhouse album - tough stuff, babies.

Larry McCray is back after a too-long absence with perhaps the finest album of his career. If you love the music of Michael Burks, this is for you. BTW: Larry and Michael were real-life cousins.

One from my favorite Daptone artist, Naomi Shelton and her Gospel Queens featuring Cliff Driver. To my ears, they nearly stole this show...tough band to follow!
