| Beth Orton Friday Night N Weather Alive Partisan Records / Liberator Music 2022 I've only heard two songs and my first impression is that trying to get this album across on the radio as less than a whole won't be easy for those unfamiliar with Beth Orton. This song completely envelops me, though. It's beautiful and fragile and the musical backing - somewhat on the jazz periphery - is perfect for this song. I've listened to it four times in a row now and it draws me in more each time. Will it top her album, Central Reservation? Not likely. Not many albums can. But I'm looking forward to hearing it in its entirety to find out. |
