My thanks to the St Louis Blues Society for that!!! Oh, Rum Drummers Mat Wilson and Ryan Koenig on resonator gtr and lap steel, respectively. (I knew Mat's tone the second I heard it!)

Little Joe from Oklaho, Flavio from Brazil. Joe on gtr and vox, Flavio on mouth harp.

5:33 AM		Tony Holiday Woman Named Trouble (feat. Jake Friel & John Nemeth) N Porch Sessions VizzTone 2019 This album was a real surprise to me, in a most pleasant way. I tend to shy away from "guests" albums, but I'm glad I didn't here. This is a tremendous album, folks. Good stuff!

5:48 AM		Hadda Brooks Just A Little Blusie Swingin' the Boogie Volume 2 Ace Records 2003 Cut for Modern Records circa 1945. This CD is essentially Volume 2 of Ace's "Best of Hadda Brooks" series. Volume 1 concentrates on vocal cuts, volume 2 on her amazing piano skills.

6:03 AM		Jessie Mae Hemphill Loving In the Moonlight She-Wolf HMG/HighTone Records 1998 This album was originally released in 1980 in France, and languished a bit due to biz reasons. However, it allowed for Jessie Mae to tour Europe several times up until a stroke suffered in 1993 essentially ended her performing career. Loving in the Moonlight is one of her own songs.

6:17 AM		The Red-Headed Strangers Run Back to You L N No Time to Waste The Red-Headed Strangers 2018 This is one of Maureen Sullivan's compositions, but you'll find fine compositions from most all the band members on terrific album from St. Louis' RHS.
6:24 AM		The People vs Hugh DeNeal Glorious Scars N Gas Station Sandwiches The People vs Hugh Deneal 2019 While the album on the whole isn't a great fit for my show, it's a great folk/rock record, recorded just a couple hours south of St. Louis at Misunderstudio in Murphysboro, Illinois. (home of some of the finest BBQ that's ever graced my palette.)

The St. Louis music pool is DEEP, babies....they still haven't repeated an artist on these compilations.

It's really bluesy Soul, in the ballpark of Josh Hoyer and folks like that, but it's good stuff no matter what genre you want it slip it into. Well done, chaps; cheers!
