As the Trump administration intensifies its sanctions and backs a coup in the sovereign state of Venezuela, it is as important as ever to stand against the US's aggressive foreign policy in Latin America. It is especially critical to understand the history of the grassroots people's movements that led to the current political structure of Venezuela, and why this structure draws the ire of the United States.
