Local writer Lydia Howell explores local culture, art, and activism with interviews and special features. She won the PREMACK AWARD FOR PUBLIC INTEREST JOURNALISM for her investigative reporting on homelessness in (the now defunct) PULSE Newspaper.

Lydia is a long time denizen of KFAI who also writes for various communicty newspapers and online publications.



INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

"Catalyst" starts KFAI Radio's INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY celebration (which is MON. MAR. 9 starting at 8AM) Hear from diverse women, including DOLORES HUARTE, Co-founder of the UNITED FARM WORKERS Union; TARANA BURKE, the Afri8can American woman who started #MeToo over a decade ago; ALICE WALKER on "Democratic Womanism". Inspiration with poetry and music.
