Good Luck, Seeker draws together many glistening strands of The Waterboys’ journey. Its 14 songs are populated by unrepentant freaks, soul legends, outlaw film stars and 20th Century mystics, drawing inspiration from The Stones, Kate Bush, Sly and Kendrick as well as Mike Scott’s very own musical past.

Wild rock & soul singer Bette Smith traces elements of her life-affirming new album The Good, The Bad & The Bette to her childhood in rough Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Patrick Sweany just hit his 20th anniversary as a professional musician last year. Of course, a lot has changed in two decades, so Sweany and his band began trying out new arrangements for some of the songs. While on tour with the Austin band Greyhounds, Sweany and the 'Hounds cooked up an idea to record these new arrangements at Greyhounds' new Austin studio Bud's Recording Services. Twice last year when Sweany toured through Austin, he spent a couple days at Bud's and laid down a dozen tracks - mostly rearranged older songs, but also a new tune ("One Thing") and a cover (you'll hear about that in vol. II). Andrew Trube and Anthony Farrell of Greyhounds produced those sessions and tried to get Sweany out of his comfort zone. "We threw a lot of curve balls at (the band)," says Trube. "We added a lot of keyboard, which Patrick doesn't record much with, and even tried out some weird vintage drum machine loops and other sound effects."

Revising his Hank Wilson persona, Leon Russell has emerged once again as a county artist on this album. As the third volume in a series that started in the 1970s, this is one of the most well-produced country albums ever. Legend in My Time rocks too, with such covers as the searing "Sixteen Tons" and "Okie From Muskogee." On the ballad side, a version of Willie Nelson's "Night Life" pretty much blows every other version away. GA-20 was formed by friends Pat Faherty and Matthew Stubbs in Boston, MA in 2018. The project was born out of their mutual love of heavy traditional Blues, R&B, and Rock & Roll of the late 50s and early 60s. Faherty and Stubbs bonded over legendary artists like Lazy Lester, J.B. Lenoir, Earl Hooker, Buddy Guy, Otis Rush and Junior Wells. Feeling a void in current music, the duo have set out to write, record and perform a modern version of this beloved art form. Live, GA-20 is a trio of 2 guitars, vocals and drums. Raw, passionate and honest performance, both on stage and in the studio, is the only goal. Stubbs has spent the past 11 years as guitarist for Blues legend Charlie Musselwhite. During that time he has also backed up and toured with such Blues giants as John Hammond, James Cotton, Junior Watson and James Harman. Louisiana's LeRoux announces the release of its seventh studio album, One of Those Days, available on July 24th, 2020 worldwide. Several videos featuring the new music will be released over the next month. “Becoming more popular” might have been a sensible way to describe guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Anders Osborne previously in his profession, but Osborne’s popularity has certainly pass on beyond the edges of New Orleans, a town where he first slice his teeth and developed a status for incendiary concert events. Osborne was created in Sweden in 1966. His dad was a specialist drummer along with a jazz lover whose early-’60s jazz combo performed clubs throughout European countries. At a age group, he became captivated by the vocalist/songwriters from the ’60s and ’70s, but traced those performers’ roots back again to even more fundamental blues. He traveled all over the world, making profits from displays, and resolved in New Orleans, which became his house bottom after 1990. An exciting (and very timely) version of the Buffalo Springfield classic, "For What It's Worth," by 21-year-old singer Faith Jones, backed energetically by a North Carolina all-star band of Peter Holsapple, Gene Holder, and Chris Stamey (The dB's) and Brian Dennis and Kenny Soule (DAG). This unique, passionate, freshly-recorded rock-and-soul performance includes an interpolation of a quote from 60s BLM icon Angela Davis, "I'm no longer accepting what I cannot change, I'm changing what I cannot accept." Listeners will love Jones's electrifying take on this song, which was performed by Billy Porter and Stephen Stills at the opening night of the Democratic National Convention this year.

Small Faces were an English rock band from London, founded in 1965. The group originally consisted of Steve Marriott, Ronnie Lane, Kenney Jones, and Jimmy Winston, with Ian McLagan replacing Winston as the band's keyboardist in 1966.The band was one of the most acclaimed and influential mod groups of the 1960s, recording hit songs such as "Itchycoo Park", "Lazy Sunday", "All or Nothing", and "Tin Soldier", as well as their concept album Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake. They later evolved into one of the UK's most successful psychedelic bands until 1969. When Marriott left to form Humble Pie, Small Faces did not disband. The remaining three members collaborated with Ronnie Wood, Ronnie's older brother Art Wood, Rod Stewart and Kim Gardner, releasing four tracks under the name of Quiet Melon, after which Art Wood and Kim Gardner departed the situation and the remaining five members became Faces, except in North America. wiki
