Have You Heard Of The Labor Temple?
Replay of episode that originally posted on March 28, 2019.
This is a special episode where I interview George Ostrushko. George was part of a group of people who started a concert venue in the Twin Cities called The Labor Temple. The Labor Temple was open from 1969 to 1971 and was dubbed "The Fillmore of the Midwest" by former Grateful Dead member, Pigpen McKernan. This episodes talks about those days, plays music by the artists of the day and plays tunes that were indicative of those artists at that time.
George did the poster art for those shows and you can see them at http://www.juryjart.com/.
There is also a book about The Labor Temple written by Christian Peterson. You can look for that at http://christianapeterson.com
