Members of First Voice Media Apprenticeship produce, write, host and engineer Full Circle, a cultural affairs radio magazine. Full Circle showcases personal views, current events, interviews, feature stories, and live performances from communities of underserved and underrepresented humans.

Full Circle has brought stories of the Salinas library sit-in, the Block the Boat movement, the Oscar Grant Rally, and the ongoing challenges faced by people of color.

First Voice Media is a social justice apprenticeship program based on community building, a collaborative work environment and passing on our skills and stories. First Voice focuses on bringing women and people of color into media and work in partnership with Pacifica community radio station KPFA and other community media outlets, both locally and nationally.

First Voice aims to build and strengthen community and empower its participants to find their voices and tell their stories. Graduates of First Voice include Noelle Hanrahan, founder & producer of Mumia Abu-Jamal’s “Prison Radio” and Edward R. Murrow News Documentary Award winner Ali Budner, formerly co-producer of “Your Call” at KALW.
