“You’re never going to be as good as something you copy. So, we want to invent our own space,” says Phil Leavitt, one half of the stalwart rock/blues duo 7Horse. “And if you want what we’ve got, we’re the only ones who have it.”

For Leavitt and Calio, 7Horse marks the incredible evolution of a friendship and musical partnership that goes back over two decades — with some brief detours into book writing, solo records and the Blue Man Group — starting when the two served as the rhythm section and Joie sang lead for the platinum alt-rock trio dada. “We’ve always been unified in thought,” says Calio. “We agree on almost everything. And we know that even as we expand our band, the two of us will always be the foundation.”

“We started as a two-piece, blues-influenced, Black Keys-styled band, but we couldn’t stay there,” says Leavitt. “We have all these influences. I’m a product of growing up in Vegas, so I love showbiz, and I love rock’n’roll. To me, it’s like Dean Martin fronting the Stones. Is there room for that? We want to find out.”

The third solo release by Johnathan Martin is clearly a rock album. Not much acoustic guitars here, except for the title and final track. Johnathan Martin has written 10 original songs for this album and they are mostly hard rockers.
Only a three piece band this time in the form of tertius du Plessis on bass, Paul van der Waal on drums and Johnathan Martin handling all the guitar duties.
There is a lot of melancholy in the lyrics and it's haunting tone is a trademark of Johnathan martins writing.

Ray Cashman is a Texas Bluesman and Roots Rock -n- Roller, an interesting person as the man fits into the American roots scene perfectly. His original compilations are a Texas Gulf coast musical gumbo of sorts. His amplified sound is solid, reminiscent of a Muddy Waters presentation and his lyrics extremely expressive. Two things you can tell about the man right out of the gate is that his heart is in his music and he’s passionate about sharing the American roots sound with folks all around the world. After all that’s how he found it, that’s how his love affair with the blues began so many years ago - it was shared with him. Today, Ray passes it along both in the States and at his performances across Europe.

Cashman's 2007 release Texassippi Stomp which featured Jimbo Mathus,( Squirrel Nut Zippers, Buddy Guy) was widely praised and placed on a number of critics year end best of lists for blues recordings. Cashman has toured England, Ireland, Holland, Belgium, France, Italy, Spain, Hungary and the USA from the Gulf Coast to Canada and sea to shining sea. Cashman has performed at such notable festivals as SXSW- TX, Swing Wespelaar- BE, Drijf in Blues festival- NL, King Biscuit Blues Festival - AR, Le Blues Autour Du Zinc- FR, Juke Joint Festival-MS, Lucca Blues Festival- IT, Deep Blues festival-MS. Cashman has released 7 full albums with the latest being 2019's highly praised "Houston Electric". After living for over 20 years in music cities such as Austin and Nashville, Cashman resides in the Sam Houston National Forest just outside of Montgomery, TX.

Rachel started learning violin in public school starting around 6th grade. One of her scholarships for college included classical violin. After leaving college she returned home to work at a mental hospital temporarily, to get a feel for the field she was about to pursue her Doctorate in, Psychology. She also wanted to help her parents Klaus and Julia, naturalized German-American citizens, as her mother was a recent cancer survivor and her father an amputee. Her parents continually urged her to pay a visit to a local bar where their good friend Smilin’ Bob Lewis played with a bluegrass band every Thursday. She finally went and the course of her life changed forever.

From the moment they met, Rachel and Smilin’ Bob hit it off. He saw something in her and immediately assumed a mentorship/second father role. The pair was vastly different, 30 years different in age, one a young girl, the other a grizzled war veteran who had lived several lifetimes before he turned 21. They became best friends, constant companions, and bandmates. He played everything with strings and a lot of things without. Anything he touched became an instrument. He played the slide guitar and she was hooked from the first note. She began spending all her free time steeping in his mastery of all things Delta. His soul, improvisational spirit, humor, bravery, nobility, generosity and encyclopedic knowledge of southern heritage music left an indelible mark on Rachel.

Up in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, there is an interesting guy you might not have heard of, a Moroccan-Canadian playing old time country blues. Essentially, he is either a walking testament to the universality of music or he represents the continuation of the blues across cultures, a North African playing the blues that are rooted in North and West Africa. He is Othman Wahabi, a proud Sunni Muslim, and he can play! Islam has a rich musical tradition, as well as science, astronomy and mathematics. Contrary to some of the current perverted misinterpretations of Islam, when radical extremists forcibly forbid music, the first musical conservatory of mankind was in Moorish Spain. One of the richest musical tradition and philosophies comes out of Sufi Islam.
