Media operations have been designated in California as essential functions. So those of us who work in the media are still expected to report for duty if we're healthy.

Each station is taking its own precautions, Frankie. Our staff is small enough to manage all of the safety regulations we have in place, and most of of our programming is pre-recorded because all of the students are gone.

Hi Christine! I remember you telling me about that mural you painted for a new restaurant out in Redlands. I can't help but think with a heavy heart about what they're going through...opening a restaurant right when all such businesses are either reducing hours or going out of business altogether. I hope they survive, and I would like to try them out sometime.

It's definitely heart-breaking what all of this is doing to small businesses everywhere.

A lot of record stores and book stores were barely hanging on as it is. I'm sure a lot of them won't be able to reopen when this is over, and that's a huge cultural loss right there.

Dave, yeah, I hope Hate Burger does well. I know they’re doing take-out, but small businesses are sure having it rough.

I've been trying to support some of the small music sellers I frequent online, and I bought a record from one of my favorite bands to send some cash their way today, but I don't have a ton to spare unfortunately.

Fortunately communities are trying to come together to support their local businesses. I just hope they will make it.

I would just as soon starve than not listen to my weekly doses of music with your show and the Boss Guy's shows (as well as other various shows on KSPC). They're the very thing that helps me keep my sanity, through a global pandemic or not!

This is one of those moments when the people who have all the money need to spread it around. If I was a millionaire, I'd be ordering take-out from local restaurants like crazy and donating the food to food banks or sharing with people in the community.

I truly hope all of us that are able to be on the air right now are able to stay on through this entire crisis. Things have been changing so much week by week, I just have to enjoy one show at a time and hope we can keep going next week.

My wife and I said we would rather starve than let our cat starve. We stocked up on PLENTY of wet and dry food for her, so she's good to go for a long time now. I thought the pet stores would be facing a crisis with empty shelves, but oddly enough, they seem to be rather full like normal. I sure as hell hope people aren't neglecting their furry family members for toilet paper!

My mom was trying to get hand sanitizer for two weeks and everywhere was sold out. So she finally found some online, but she had to order by the dozen.So 12 bottles arrive... she keeps a few for the house, then she went to the older next door neighbors on each side and gave them each a couple of bottles. Then the lady next door mentions how the store she goes to was sold out of eggs... so my mom runs back home, doles out half of the eggs she had and takes the rest to the lady next door.

That's how I was raised.

I was wondering if pet stores are staying open. Cat food and dog food you can get eveywhere. But what if you have a bird, or a hamster or something exotic?

I just have a fish. Luckily, he doesn't eat a lot and I have plenty of pellets left in his canister.

As far as I know, PetSmart has plenty of food and supplies for birds and hamsters, reptiles, fish, etc. Like good music, animals bring great joy to my life!

So they're staying open? That's great.

Animals need to survive through this too.

I went shopping at a bunch of stores yesterday. I had run out of eggs at home, so I went to one store, and they didn't have any (I heard eggs were a real problem trying to buy). But then I went to the next store, and they had a huge amount of eggs in stock! I found the same situation to be the same with bottled water. It really depends on being in the right place at the right time.

But how is the Bunny Bunch holding up? Sorry, not sorry.

I guarantee someone that loves those bunnies is checking in on their fuzzy welfare.

My wife and I even traded with our neighbor next door some bottled water for some paper towels. Trading is still a win-win situation for both parties!

See, that's awesome. That's exactly how people should be conducting themselves through all of this. Hoarding is stupid and selfish.

That is awesome, Dave. I traded a pair of Doc Martens and chocolate truffles for tp and fish. And I’m being serious.

I've been finding a few paper products in very small quantities online, but I want to secure some larger amounts. I would then like to divide it up and give some to my parents and some to my in-laws, as both sets of parents are having a really tough time finding these products that up until a week or two ago were so common to find anywhere.

I greatly prefer stories like this than the ones about college students saying "eff this... Spring Break!"

My Mom is 78 and my Dad is 85 and has severe dementia. They're knowledge of the internet is limited, and they don't really know how to purchase online, and they DEFINITELY need to adhere to "social distancing" at their age.

I think we're all in that boat with our parents, Dave. I'm definitely far more concerned about them than I am about myself.

Yeah, all of our parents have done SOOOOOO much for us in raising us (well, there are a few out there who haven't, but that's another story and topic). It's the least I can do to go over and visit them, give them much needed necessities, etc.

I hear you, sir. I'm still spending time with my folks. That's definitely an essential.

I went looking for that first Warlord EP after playing "Mrs. Victoria", but it's crazy out of print.

I listened to a couple songs, though, and they were really solid. More rock than metal, but good rock for sure.

Also, the really early Twisted Sister (pre-Stay Hungry era, 1984) is great, too! Back in the day when they wore denim, and not all that ripped spandex and garish clown makeup.

I still liked Twisted Sister when they got a bit more poppy. Those songs were fun. Not so much when he tried doing Nu-Metal later on, though.

Although the Strangeland soundtrack has a few excellent tracks on it.

Yeah, the videos for their two biggest hits were frickin' hilarious!! I remember showing them to my parents back when the videos were new, and even they (who were both very socially conservative, not liking metal or hard rock) got the joke!

It's hard to believe anyone was offended by that back in the day, but they definitely were.

Yeah, I watched a yoked 300 pound dude punch an 80-pound girl in the face at a Pantera show. Some of their fans were a bit scary.

My wife and I almost bought tickets for a couple of Dodger games this year, and we had a good chance to go to the All-Star Game 2020 (held at Dodger Stadium), but with opening day pushed back and the season itself being uncertain, we held off buying the tickets rather than going through the hassle of trying to get our money refunded.

Probably smart. I've had three concerts postponed and one event canceled and refunded so far. Plus two coming up in May that are seeming increasingly unlikely.

I miss going out and probably have a cancelled concert, but I’m honestly content painting my living room and listening to Touch of Evil.

Making the best of it is all you can do.

I'm happy to provide a small part of that.

My in-laws cancelled an Alaskan cruise due to the outbreak. But then again, I've always thought most of those cruises were floating Petri dishes for so many diseases.

I wish DJ anonymous would do some shows...

Some of the greatest joys in life are listening to music, binge-watching a favorite show, etc., all things that you can do while at home away from the virus.

There's nothing on a cruise ship you can't do in Vegas. I'd rather not be stuck in the middle of an ocean doing those things.

Agreed, Dave. Having some time to play video games definitely doesn't suck, either.

My Aunt has been on many, many cruises in recent years. Luckily, she has never gotten sick, and she is still alive at 98!

Someone said today, "a lot of great art is going to come out of all of this." Definitely something to look forward to.

I think the fact of being confined to a vessel on the open water is a bit unnerving. If you want to get away from something on land, you can just go somewhere else, but in the ocean, you're trapped and have nowhere to go.

Exactly. I can do short boat rides, but not being able to see land at all is an unnerving concept for me.

I really wonder how those early explorers did it...like Magellan, Drake, Columbus, Cook, Da Gama, etc.

Especially since they thought at some point they could just fall off the edge of the earth.
