Even though "Comfortably Numb" seems to get overplayed throughout the years, I really never get tired of hearing it. It is such an emotionally packed and charged song, and David Gilmour's solo is flawless, and his phrasing is perfect! It is one of the greatest songs AND solos EVER!!!

When I saw the Floyd live in San Diego back in '94, they obviously played "Comfortably Numb", and Gilmour absolutely tore it up, as you would expect him to do nothing less!

Fun Fact: Comfortably Numb Was Originally Intended To Be On David Gilmour's Solo Debut But It Was Left Off The Album. Roger Waters Co-Wrote Both The Music (With Gilmour) And The Lyrics But Before The Music And The Lyrics Were Written Down By Waters, There Was A Big Disagreement Between Waters And Gilmour Over The 1979 Song And The Rest Is Music History.

I can remember standing in line for over five hours for tickets to their show at the Rose Bowl, and when I finally got to the front, the couple in front of me had got the last Pink Floyd tickets for the Rose Bowl. I almost forgot how to breathe at that moment! But then the guy at the ticket counter announced they opened up tickets for sale at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego, so I said HELL YES!!!

Yeah, I was most definitely lucky to get to see them live! I live a lot closer to L.A. than I do San Diego, but I was totally happy and justified in driving to San Diego, especially if it is Pink Floyd. Hell, I might have even driven to San Francisco and slept in my car after the show before driving back to see the Floyd! Some bands are just worth it!
