A lady from Thailand was at our place last night- she was into 90's Thai pop but via youtube I stumbled across Isan music which is the music of Rural Western Thailand- its worth a listen- very intense and some was a nice amalgam or traditional and contemporary music

I'll try and drag a link or two off that laptop and post next week- it was really amazing to me ; kind of a unique sub-genre of traditional SE Asian music I suppose
