Yea, I’ve come to the conclusion that the way we live isn’t the way we’re supposed to live. I think we’re supposed to experience new things and places.

I know that Socrates said "The unexamined life is not worth living" but examining life too closely reveals exactly what you're talking about. You have to strike a balance somehow.

Yeah, and I think it's made worse by the fact that we're relatively isolated as social creatures. We don't live communally, cook communally, take care of our kids communally, etc.

Yes, exactly, Dan ... we were talking about that this morning as well ... i.e. that sometimes it's better just not to think, but to feel and experience.

Yes, Nadine, our society is not healthy. Connections can make a huge difference. Hence the chat box :-D

Hi, Boy Named Actually!

Well, I didn’t watch it but I was helped to remember why I never watched it. My boss loves it. He also loves to talk. Every Monday, I got the 3 hour verbal edition. Every 3 hour verbal episode ended with “You should watch it. You would like it.” I would think why do I need to watch it? You just took 3 hours of my life talking about it!” As a result I learned to hate it even though I never saw it. He’s been complaining about the finale for 3 days...

Dan, I couldn’t agree more. It was horrible! Now that it’s done, I’m interested in it. At least the first 7 seasons. I like the girl with the big eyes already

Lost was a show I didn't watch until it was over

Seeing it all at once, rather than once a week over 6 years, I didn't mind the final season at all

Yeah, it's pretty heartbreaking, Blake, how it takes a nose dive in Season 8. If I could go back and do it over, I wouldn't have even started it.

Yeah, BNA, I really liked Lost, including the finale. Bawled my eyes out when that dog cozied up to Jack at the end ... :-)

Have you watched The Wire, Blake? (can't remember if we've chatted about that before) I'm rewatching it now (for the 6th time, I think) to restore my faith in HBO and quality storytelling.

Never watched it. It sounds great but it’s hard to find time to sit down and watch shows the way I’d like

I’m a little worried about HBO. It’s been speculated that because GOT is over, they’ll lose a lot of subs. I hope they don’t sacrifice quality for ratings
