From what i read, he was, Positive Zero! He definitely played with them at Altamont Festival 1969. Saw him on stage with them!

I GET TO HERE IT TWICE, WOO HOO!!!

The way I've always heard Jimi's Woodstock material played on the radio was "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" (or at least the tail end of it), followed by that short little jam, followed by "The Star Spangled Banner", followed by "Purple Haze", and finally closed out with "Villanova Junction". I don't know how it actually happened for real.

I have no idea either Dave! It's all good though!

Oh yes, definitely! Uli John Roth was hugely influenced by his playing as well. You can hear it in most of the '70s records by the Scorpions. Many others were also influenced by Jimi.

When I had a root canal last year, I actually SAW the needle when they were putting it into my mouth. It must have been at least four inches in length. It looked frightening, but they numbed the area before they gave the actual shot. The shot was to deaden the nerve/rot of the tooth. Fun stuff! (NOT!!)
