KTUH is a non-commercial, student-run, listener-supported station in Honolulu, Hawaii. It was Hawaii's first non-commercial FM station, and signed on the air July 7, 1969. Programming originates at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Born and raised in Haleʻiwa, Waialua, Oʻahu-a-Lua, DJ Mermaid is currently pursuing her Master's Degree in Hawaiian Language. During her normal show, "Kai Leo Nui", she digs for the best in vintage and contemporary Hawaiian music. Outside of Hawaiian, her love for music crosses a broad range of genres like jazz, soul, R&B, electronic, boom bap, ska, Motown, and so much more.
