KTUH is currently the only station that supports Hawaiʻian Language programming. Kai Leo Nui is a show that boasts the best of both traditional and modern Hawaiʻian music. From the chants of old to the new Hoku Hanohano award winners, this show strives to show the breadth of Hawaiʻian music through both vinyl and CD recordings. Kai Leo Nui is curated by DJ Mermaid in both Hawaiʻian and English to allow listeners from the both the Hawaiʻian Language community and those who do not understand Hawaiʻian *yet* to fully immerse themselves into the rich history and variety of Hawaiʻian music throughout the years.
