A musical exploration of the past and its influence on the music of today. Covering primarily the traditional and contemporary music of the Northern Hemisphere. I love music from everywhere, but this is my person focus of interest. General regions/genres showcased: Celtic, European, Nordic, Near East, Americas. There is a lot of crossover and connection between these, primarily due to the migration of the Celtic people from the East to the West, slowly developing its own unique flavor along the way. “Celtic” has an older meaning of “people of the horse”. These cultures have a close connection to the equine world, which probably accounts for the many different rhythmic signatures in the music, a galloping pace, and at times, break-neck speed...
