  • Radio, and music, was always part of my life. My Dad had jukeboxes and player pianos, plus he loved Hank Williams and Benny Goodman. My Mom loved Broadway tunes and musicals. I played piano as a youngster but never really pursued it. Even my Grandparents loved music: from them I first heard the Grand Canyon Suite, and Yma Sumac! Growing up in Baltimore, I listened at night on my transistor radio to WBAL. A few years later I heard WNEW in NYC, and completely fell in love with the mystery and beauty of radio broadcasting. Fast forward to Tucson, 1984, when I took the second-ever training class at KXCI, intending to just work on production. Radio gets into your blood and American roots music is the heart and soul of my programming. I feel a special connection with New Orleans music, food, and culture, and visit every year.
  • My work life was driven by service to others, or sometimes, just my own survival as I pursued a whole lot of adventures, including a bicycle ride up the entire West Coast. I have a Masters degree in counseling, and since "retiring", enjoy being a Docent at the Tucson Botanical Gardens, and have been certified as a Master Naturalist in Pima County. Nature is my religion! I love the Sonoran Desert, and especially love the extended family that I've found through KXCI.
  • Buckaroo Jake is our beloved Corgi. He listens every Saturday to Ruby's Roadhouse at 12 noon.
