Re: Shudder To Think, I just learned another term tonight: "post-hardcore" which apparently is not the same as "post punk".

Anyway...they influenced a WHOLE lot of other great artists back in the day.

I'm new to the post-hardcore term too, but it makes good sense in relation to Shudder To Think. Great to hear how both logical and imaginative we all wax as we spin the wax :-)

LOL. It's just weird to me to contemplate these differences in the post punk period. Having seen certain punk bands live in the late 70s-early 80s, like The Dead Kennedys, The Minutemen, The Weirdos, Youth Brigade, etc., I never thought about the differences between the bands that followed, this movement, versus "other bands" that followed. (Yes, I know this sounds convoluted, so I'll quit. Haha.)

That's the kind-of heavy lifting we appreciate from attentive listeners like you, Dan! Thankfully, KXCI also has a plethora of talented DJs like our own El Toro, Hannah Levin, Elva, etc., who have given great consideration to these period distinctions. I'm learning along with you ;-).
