Paul Frederic Simon (born October 13, 1941) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, actor and producer. Simon's musical career has spanned over six decades. He is widely regarded as one of the most acclaimed songwriters in popular music history.

In the early 1980s, Simon's relationship with his former musical partner Art Garfunkel had deteriorated, his marriage to actress Carrie Fisher had collapsed, and his previous record, Hearts and Bones (1983), had been a commercial failure. In 1984, after a period of depression, Simon became fascinated by a bootleg cassette of mbaqanga, South African street music. He and Halee visited Johannesburg, where they spent two weeks recording with South African musicians. Further recordings were held in the United States, with guest musicians including Linda Ronstadt, the Everly Brothers, Louisiana band Good Rockin' Dopsie and the Twisters, and Mexican-American band Los Lobos.

The release of Luz de Vida 2 will be celebrated at MSA Annex on November 6th with XIXA, Hannah Yuen, and Soda Sun.

The song, which was recorded live in 2019 as part of the ‘Film Music – Nick Cave & Warren Ellis’ event at the Hamer Hall in Melbourne, will appear on the band’s ‘B-Sides & Rarities Part II’ album which is set to come out on October 22.

Though their taut, unrelenting Krautrock inspired music might scream of West Germany, Sei Still are, in fact, a five-piece band hailing from Mexico City (but they did just move to Berlin).

‘Beautiful Life’ will serve as the title music for Orlando von Einsiedel’s new documentary Convergence: Courage In A Crisis, which is out on Netflix today (October 12).
