Pop. 1280 Museum On the Horizon
Museum On the Horizon Profound Lore 2021

10:07 PM
Nine Inch Nails - Heresy
Nine Inch Nails Heresy
The Downward Spiral Nothing 2015

Following the comedic styling displayed on "Halftime At the Apocalypse", here is THIS!

10:10 PM
Your Enemies Friends - The Wiretap
Your Enemies Friends The Wiretap
The Wiretap E.P. Buddyhead Records 2004

Los Angeles-based noisy art-punk band formed in 2001. Brings back memories of driving throughout Los Angeles County with my friend Miriam in her beat up BMW and catching so many emerging indie acts live. Saw someone get hit with a bottle at a live show!

10:13 PM
Blanck Mass - Rhesus Negative
Blanck Mass Rhesus Negative
World Eater Sacred Bones Records 2017

Experimental industrial project from Benjamin John Powers, one-half of the indie band Fuck Buttons. This album is his response to the populist political upheaval from 2016. Tasty tune!

10:25 PM
Goblin - Suspiria
Goblin Suspiria
Suspiria. Cinevox Record 2017

10:47 PM
Cabaret Voltaire - Just Fascination
Cabaret Voltaire Just Fascination
The Crackdown Mute 2013

1983 release from this experimental, industrial, post-punk (INSERT LABEL HERE) trio. The punk rockers loved them!

10:51 PM
Rel Rex - Program
Rel Rex Program
B9 Bis (Belgian Cold Wave 1979-83) LTM Publishing 2007

As you gathered from the album title, Rel Rex was a Belgian Cold Wave artist, slightly chippier than its dour peers.

10:57 PM
Devo - Pity You
Devo Pity You
New Traditionalists Warner Records 1981

This LP was meant as a musical and lyrical rebuke to the success (and clueless new fans) brought on by the hit single "Whip It". "Opening cut "Through Being Cool" is Devo laying all that aside.

11:02 PM
The Raincoats - Fairytale In the Supermarket
The Raincoats Fairytale In the Supermarket
The Raincoats We ThRee 2009

About this song, from Ana da Silva: “There is a scene in Who Is Poly Styrene, set among the grocery store aisles, where Poly is pushing a shopping cart beneath fluorescent lights, grabbing up products… it is the industrial Wasteland of late capitalism. ‘I remember distinctly thinking that her music sounded a bit like fairytales, but in a consumerist society. Suddenly it came to me. This is like a fairytale in the supermarket.’”

11:05 PM
Sonic Youth - Beauty Lies in the Eye
Sonic Youth Beauty Lies in the Eye
Sister Squeaky Squawk 1987

Fourth studio LP from Sonic Youth. This tune features four guitar tracks overlaid. Written by Kim Gordon.

11:07 PM
Wipers - No Fair
Wipers No Fair
Youth of America Zenorecords 1981

Second studio LP from Greg Sage and company. Despite the band's sound, Greg Sage did not consider Wipers to be a punk rock.

11:12 PM
Saccharine Trust - I Have...
Saccharine Trust I Have...
Paganicons SST Records 1981

Debut EP from this Los Angeles punk band. Influenced by the experimentation of the Minutemen and wanted to build on that sound.

11:13 PM
Public Image Ltd. - Poptones
Public Image Ltd. Poptones
Second Edition Rhino/Warner Records 1979

Post-punk band formed by John Lydon fka Johnny Rotten following disbandment of the Sex Pistols. The lyrics for this song are based on an abduction, with the surviving victim stating the abductors kept playing the same random pop tune over and over in the car while she was in the trunk (!).

11:26 PM
NEU! - E-Musik
NEU! E-Musik
Neu! 75 Grönland Records 2001

Third studio LP released in - you guessed it - 1975 by former Kraftwerk members Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother. This album influenced much of the music created by John Lydon with PiL.

11:36 PM
Liars - The Start
Liars The Start
The Apple Drop Mute 2021

10th studio LP from this experimental arty post-punk band originally formed in NYC. Only original founding member and singer Angus Andrew remains. For this release, he returned to his native Australia and spent time in the outback, resulting in this atmospheric, experimental release.

11:43 PM
Electric Wizard - Venus In Furs
Electric Wizard Venus In Furs
Black Masses Rise Above Records 2010

Gotta love this English doom metal with hints of sludge and stoner rock.

11:49 PM
Crime and the City Solution - No Money No Honey
Crime and the City Solution No Money No Honey
Room of Lights Mute 1986

No, that's not Nick Cave on vocals but rather Simon Bonney. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and Crime & the City Solution were both featured on Wim Wender's beautiful 1987 film Wings of Desire.

WAKE UP!
Bama Dan 10:04:18 PM
Look. I just got out of the hospital and they suggested I listened to some nice, relaxing music to soothe my blood pressure. Is that not going to happen tonight?
Julio P. (host) 10:04:42 PM
Nope. And if you really just got out of the hospital I hope you are a-okayu
Julio P. (host) 10:05:00 PM

Leslie Schmidt 10:19:51 PM
Those energy drinks are LAME-O!
Julio P. (host) 10:20:14 PM

Bama Dan 10:22:08 PM
Look, you two...it's an hour later here in Bama. If I can do this without coffee or lame-assed energy drinks, so can you!
Leslie Schmidt 10:23:03 PM
Just wanted you to know that I am listening & loving your program! Thank you, Julio!
Julio P. (host) 10:26:00 PM

Eat some prunes.

Julio P. (host) 10:32:21 PM

Bama Dan 10:32:28 PM

Not really, no. I hate Rush
Bama Dan 10:33:12 PM
Ha ha. Too late! Have already downed a handful...
Julio P. (host) 10:33:14 PM
Specifically, I hate Geddy Lee's vocals
Bama Dan 10:33:51 PM
Yeah. Even though I was a a Prof addict in the 70s, I never got into Rush...
Bama Dan 10:34:05 PM
*Prog
Julio P. (host) 10:35:14 PM

Leslie Schmidt 10:35:24 PM
Mosquito Man, Gaddy Lee
Leslie Schmidt 10:36:09 PM
I saw ELP when I was 14 in NYC
Bama Dan 10:36:39 PM
Oh nice! I saw ELP at Oakland Colliseum in the late 70s. I have a love hate relationship with them.
Julio P. (host) 10:36:49 PM
I love me some Krautrock. That's kinda proggy, no? Also went through a heavy Tool phase. They were influenced by King Crimson. So...
Bama Dan 10:38:37 PM
I still love the LP "Trilogy".
Leslie Schmidt 10:38:40 PM
Julio, how 'bout some Rammstein? My mom really liked them!
Julio P. (host) 10:39:36 PM
I don't think I have anything Rammstein!
Bama Dan 10:41:35 PM

Julio P. (host) 10:44:11 PM

Julio P. (host) 10:49:25 PM
I wasn't even born yet!
Bama Dan 10:51:17 PM
I did see REM for FREE at UCLA in 1982. (But never saw Gang of 4.)
