10:03 PM		Gary Numan Intruder N Intruder BMG Rights Management (UK) Ltd 2021 Despite being better known for New Wave hits "Cars" and "Are Friends Electric?", English musician Gary Numan has released a prolific body of work. On here - his 21st studio LP - Numan continues his theme about the possibility of a bleak future with a concept album primarily told from the Earth's point-of-view, decrying the ills brought on by humanity.

10:14 PM		Machines of Loving Grace Lilith / Eve L Concentration Mammoth Records 1993 Tucson industrial band primarily active in the first half of the 90s. Scored a radio and Billboard hit with the single "Butterfly Wings" included on this, the group's second LP.

11:44 PM		Mission of Burma Weatherbox Vs. Matador 1997 1981 debut LP from this Boston post-punk band. Disbanded in the 80s then reunited over 30 years later, releasing several great full-length LPs, showing they still had it decades later.

Just now seeing that Machines of Loving Grace was named after a Richard Brautigan poem. I've loved Brautigan's "Willard and the Bowling Trophies" since the late 70s.

I know this is repetitive, but I can still see Jello Biafra covered in mayonnaise at a live show in San Jose in 1980. Good times!

What makes for inaccessible hardcore punk? I will say, I am not very well versed in the ins and outs of music culture/terminology, I'm a more of a casual.

Good question! I preface my answer by stating it's all subjective (as my opinions are worth squat). I point to the 80s Boston hardcore punk scene as an answer.

Repetitive, no hooks, only enjoyable in small doses ( a track or two here and there) if at all

Julio will have his own take. I would say it's in the "eyes of the beholder". You've already shown an attraction to The Residents. For many, this is farther than they want to go.

Ahh, that Residents track. I'm not exactly able to listen to a bunch of those tracks in a row, but I find myself thinking about them and wanting to hear them again.
