I really like the way that Crockett repeats "I am not afraid" on the outro, just as Jill Scott repeats it for the outro of her own song of the same title.

What a lovely observation! I'll have to go give that Jill Scott song a closer listen...

Of course, we listeners can't have a clue about the way a set will go when it just begins. (Only in retrospect.) But the pairing of Karachevtsev and "Dance Me..." in this set now becomes clear.

How is it that I never heard this cover of "When Doves Cry"? This is fabulous and fun!

It only appears on the 1996 film soundtrack to Romeo & Juliet--it's a very powerful moment in the film, where the artist himself, a young Quindon Tarver performs in front of a choir. So great!

The last 20 minutes or so helped me maintain calm while cleaning the bathroom. So thanks!

Hi @Bama Dan! I owe you and Cheron a thank you. Your encouragement last week has led me to start the process of returning to the airwaves on KTRU (where I was DJ-ing in Houston until the pandemic). I'll probably return as a sub, which better suits my schedule at the moment, but it's a way for me to start scratching that DJ itch again. I'm thankful to both of you!

Yes--Crystal Radio is blessedly local.

@BamaDan, if you start with a show after 10PM, you're in safer waters with respect to the FCC. Also, for some stations at least, there is a delay between when something is played and when a listener actually hears it, and there's a "dump" button that you can press as a DJ that basically erases a few seconds of what you just played in case of accidents that can get you in trouble. Does Huntsville have any community stations with volunteer DJs?

@Richard: I was kidding, but thanks for that. And Julio asked me about that, too. I have to check, but the closest entity I know about is a local public radio station. Mainly NPR and PRI, but some music Friday and Saturday nights. But thank you for suggesting that...I really need to check.
