10:01 PM		The Fall Mansion This Nation's Saving Grace Beggars Banquet 1985 Hello, again.
10:04 PM		Wire French Film Blurred (2006 Remastered Version) Chairs Missing The state51 Conspiracy 2006 Originally released in 1978, this is Wire's second studio LP, finding the band moving away from the punk minimalism that marked their 1977 debut Pink Flag and hinting at the darky, synth-driven compositions that would make up their follow-up, 1979's 154.
10:06 PM		Cloakroom Dottie-back Thrush N Dissolution Wave Relapse Records 2022 Newest LP from the Northwest Indiana shoegaze inspired trio. A concept album of sorts (when incorporating the insert/cover/back) focused on a future wiped out from a tragic physics accident. Recommended if you like shoegaze and/or dense tunes. Easily a Top Ten of 2022 release for me.
10:11 PM		Dog Faced Hermans Volkswagen Those Deep Buds Dog Faced Hermans 2007 Final studio LP from this Scottish post-punk band that blended elements of folk, avant-garde jazz, and noise into its sound. Guitarist Andy Moor is also a member of the Dutch-based band The Ex.
10:16 PM		Carcass Identity Reflexion Ocean Carcass Identity Random Numbers 2018 Modern Cold Wave by way of Belgium, building on the original European Cold Wave sounds from the 80s.
10:27 PM		Pop. 1280 Two-Body Problem Museum On the Horizon Profound Lore 2021 Latest release from this NYC-based band, whose band name is taken from the title of a novel from pulp fiction writer Jim Thompson.
10:29 PM		Ritual Howls I Can Hear Your Tears Rendered Armor felte 2019 Latest release from this Detroit post-punk band, clearly influenced by Bauhaus and Sisters of Mercy. Band describes its sound as "death jangle."
10:34 PM		HEALTH ISN’T EVERYONE N DISCO4 :: PART II Loma Vista Recordings 2022 Newest album from the experimental electro noise group, finding them collaborating with the likes of Poppy, Pertubator, and more. On this track, HEALTH collaborated with Nine Inch Nails. HEALTH will be stopping through Tucson at 191 Toole on August 25th! Which is a Thursday night. Same as this show. Real Sophie's choice here...
10:43 PM		The Jesus Lizard Eucalyptus Blue Capitol Records 1998 Final studio LP from THE 90s noise-rock band. LP produced by Andy Gill of Gang of Four fame.
10:49 PM		Liars From What the Never Was The Apple Drop Mute 2021 10th studio LP from this experimental arty post-punk band originally formed in NYC. Only original founding member and singer Angus Andrew remains. For this release, he returned to his native Australia and spent time in the outback, resulting in this atmospheric, experimental release.
10:53 PM		LOOP Supra N Sonancy Cooking Vinyl UK 2022 Noisy space-rock English band LOOP has released its latest album following a three decade hiatus! From the get-go, this LP has LOOP picking up where it left off with 1990's Gilded Eternity.
10:58 PM		Mogwai Ceiling Granny As the Love Continues Rock Action Records 2021 Latest release from the Scottish post-rock instrumentalists. Critics noted Mogwai mostly dispensed with long-drawn out pieces in favor of quicker bursts of releases. I dunno, that is what I read!
11:04 PM		My Bloody Valentine Who Sees You m b v Domino Recording Co 2013 Following an over two decade hiatus, shoegaze legends My Bloody Valentine released their third studio LP in 2013, though Kevin Shields had been working on initial compositions that would make up most of this release since 2006. Much mellower sound than previous recordings.
11:10 PM		The Names White Shadow Swimming Factory Benelux 1982 Debut LP from this Belgian Cold Wave act, influenced by Joy Division. One of the band's earliest single was recorded by Martin Hannett, the band later signed to Factory Records. So there are multiple Joy Division connections here.
11:16 PM		Molchat Doma Ответа Нет / Otveta Net Monument Sacred Bones Records 2020 More modern Cold Wave, this by way of Belarus. First of three singles from this release, with the album briefly touching the US Billboard charts.
11:23 PM		I Start Counting Million Headed Monster Fused Mute 1988 Final single from the English electronic duo's second (and final, too) studio LP. Signed to Mute records on the strength of some early singles that they sent directly to Mute Records founder (and mastermind of The Normal) Daniel Miller.
11:27 PM		VR SEX Victim Or Vixen N Rough Dimension Dais Records 2022 Latest release from this experimental post-punk act. Put on a fun show at Club Congress last month!
11:31 PM		The Pop Group The Immaculate Deception Citizen Zombie Freaks R Us 2015 Following a 35 year recording hiatus, The Pop Group went back into the studio and released this album of brand new material. Just as funky as their previous efforts.
11:36 PM		A Place to Bury Strangers My Head Is Bleeding N See Through You Dedstrange 2022 Loudest band in New York (or so "they" say). Recently rolled into town earlier this month. Another Top Ten of 2022 release for me.
11:44 PM		Pissed Jeans Male Gaze Honeys Sub Pop Records 2013 Fourth studio LP from this Pennsylvanian noise-punk act. Lyrically, the focus is on adult travails.
11:48 PM		NoMeansNo I Need You Why Do They Call Me Mr. Happy? Alternative Tentacles 1993 Sixth studio LP from - in my opinion - Canada's best punk act (though now defunct).
