red jessup 8:14:49 AM
Me encanta tu programe de musica. mucho amor <3
Cheron (host) 8:16:30 AM
Dang, Mil gracias 💃🏽🌟
Bama Dan 8:16:43 AM
'Disais' is an unusual conjugation, isn't it? Isn't it typically "Dice"? Or is it too early to bring this up? lol
Cheron (host) 8:17:40 AM
You've got me there, honestly. My sense Spanish grammar has always been intuitive, as I learned by immersion as a kid, but never much paid attention in Spanish class.
Cheron (host) 8:18:16 AM
That said, it does seem kind of phonetically spelled in that song title. Eager to know the answer to that question!
Bama Dan 8:18:24 AM
Lo siento...I'll just enjoy the music. 😁
Bama Dan 8:19:09 AM
Seriously, though, thanks Cheron!
Cheron (host) 8:19:19 AM
haha, no sorries here! We're all in the classroom ;-)
red jessup 8:19:35 AM
English is my first language but I'm trying get fluent in Spanish eventually.
red jessup 8:20:03 AM
Thank you for being here. KXCI is life!
Bama Dan 8:21:22 AM
Rodriguez...so GOOD.

Cheron (host) 8:28:54 AM
Unironically loving the cowbell in this new LCD Soundsystem track.
Bama Dan 8:30:55 AM
Yes, loving so much about this new LCD track! First heard it last night on THS!
Cheron (host) 8:33:12 AM
Word! What a great F@F--new music from a band that's had a dearth of production lately, AND it's a film based on a great book!
Bama Dan 8:35:03 AM
Was just wondering about the novel...the only DeLillo novel I've read was Underworld, and that was more than 20 years ago! Worth a read then?
Cheron (host) 8:36:57 AM
Definitely. I confess that it's still the only DeLillo novel I've read, and it's been about 20 years, too.
Cheron (host) 8:37:41 AM
There's probably a 2-decade reset button for reading, ha ha
Bama Dan 8:38:15 AM
Will add it to my list! Thanks! (And I was thinking that, too, lol)
Cheron (host) 8:39:20 AM
🤓
Bama Dan 8:40:03 AM
Guilty as charged.
Cheron (host) 8:40:41 AM
Ditto, lol
Bama Dan 8:57:48 AM
Topaz is truly a gem (sorry) on Cosmic Thing. 🤪
Cheron (host) 8:59:43 AM
Agreed, and very punny ;)
Bama Dan 9:09:01 AM
There's a 2-3 minute delay on streaming here, but listening to your comments at the break made me think that, just because there's only one Festival of Books per year, there's no reason to not have "midterm" editions of mixes with a literary theme. I mean, it's not like there's a lack of material, right? :-)
Cheron (host) 9:10:23 AM
I like how you think, Dan.
Bama Dan 9:11:19 AM
😁
Bama Dan 9:30:59 AM
REALLY cool selection, Cheron! Under the Blue, I mean...
Cheron (host) 9:32:28 AM
SO glad you enjoyed that one. I thought it was a pretty powerful track.
richard johnson 9:36:57 AM
Good morning, friends! Made it just in time to catch the last half hour.
Cheron (host) 9:38:24 AM
Welcome to the listening party, Richard!
richard johnson 9:39:03 AM
Oh dang, this Lou Johnson cover... this is fun!
Bama Dan 9:40:08 AM
Hello, Richard! Since I missed last week's SMC, I checked out the archive and chat and saw where you were going to be DJing this next Friday. GREAT news...I have it on my calendar!
richard johnson 9:41:19 AM
Yes, I'm back behind the mic a couple of times a month! I had truly missed it!
Bama Dan 9:42:28 AM
Yes, I believe this is the original version of Bacharach's tune...?
Cheron (host) 9:45:06 AM
Ooh, I'm not sure, but you're probably right. I'll have to look it up. So many great versions of that song!
Bama Dan 9:51:37 AM
My bad. Dionne Warwick first did a demo of it in 1963, but Johnson first *charted* with it in 1964. His version is included on the incredible Bacharach collection "The Look of Love". Highly recommended!
Cheron (host) 9:52:49 AM
Ahh, that's right. I feel like I had read that at some point, since I always agonize over which version to play, ha! I will definitely check that out that collection--thanks, Dan!
richard johnson 9:55:34 AM
Enjoy your weekend, friends! Happy October!
Bama Dan 9:56:17 AM
Excellent show this morning, Cheron! Thank you for sharing your music with all of us! Have a great week!
Cheron (host) 9:56:28 AM
Happy Saturday (and Octubre) to you, too! Thank you, friends
Bama Dan 9:56:38 AM
"See" you on Friday, Richard!
richard johnson 9:56:52 AM
Yay! "See" you then!
