Bama Dan, Marie's Crisis is a small basement piano bar in the village .. wooden walls & small sconces ...feels like another century, gay b'way hangs out there after shows .. all ages, always piano banging, ahem, and singing around the piano. a classic gay nyc institution treasure...all b'way tines all the time, so fun

I've been listening to Bacharach non-stop over the last 36 hours. And I have to say I've NEVER liked Cilla Black's version of Alfie.

Had never heard Vandross's version of this tune. A great one. Still a big Brook Benton fan.

Burt considered Luther one of the best latter day intepreters of his songs.

Important to know, since he was very particular...he never liked Love's version of My Little Red Book. He preferred Manfred Mann's version.

I like Mel Torme's "Little Red Book" best

Burt was a funny bird. He had to have things just so. If Love wasn't playing the chords right, or if Manfred Mann (the keyboard player, not the band) wasn't playing the keyboard parts right, he'd either step in and play, or let every one know that he didn't approve!
