It's Total Trash
Sack 'em on the back
The Fall Mansion
This Nation's Saving Grace Beggars Banquet 1985
Doolittle 4AD 1989
Opening cut to the band's iconic second studio LP. The lyrics to "Debaser" are in reference to the 1929 Surrealist silent film Un Chien Andalou, directed by Luis Buñuel and written by Buñuel and Salvador Dalí.
Sonic Youth Total Trash
Daydream Nation (Remastered) Squeaky Squawk 1988
Much has been written about Sonic Youth's landmark fifth studio double LP (so I won't bother). Fun Fact: In 2005, this LP was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry, with the registry intended to preserve recordings that "are culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant, and/or inform or reflect life in the United States."
Mission of Burma Secrets
Vs. Matador 1997
Opening cut to the 1982 debut LP from this Boston post-punk band. This would be the only full-length studio LP MoB released in the '80s, as the band disbanded several years later due to Roger Miller's tinnitus. Decades later, the band reunited for what was to be a short one-off tour. Instead, the band went back into the studio and released four LPs from 2004 to 2012.
Hüsker Dü I Apologize
New Day Rising SST Records 1985
Third studio LP from the Minnesota punk band. FUN FACT: Bob Mould was a writer for WCW in 1999 two years before the wrestling promotion folded, having been bought out by WWF (now WWE).
Home Front Faded State N
Games of Power La Vida Es Un Mus Discos 2023
New release from this Canadian duo that finely straddles the punk/post-punk line.
Bauhaus Burning from the Inside
Burning from the Inside Beggars Banquet 1983
Fourth studio LP from the English Goth post-punk band. Written and recorded primarily without Peter Murphy, who was dealing with health issues throughout. Due to other members stepping into the fore, internal conflicts arose and the band broke up prior to this album's release.
Gang of Four Return the Gift
Entertainment! Matador 1979
Debut LP from this English post-punk band, whose influence is heard from '80s contemporaries Au Pairs through recent bands such as Radio 4 and Franz Ferdinand
Automatic Venus Hour
Excess Stones Throw Records 2022
Second studio LP from Los Angeles post-punk trio consisting of Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals) Halle Saxon (bass, vocals), and Lola Dompé (drums, vocals).
Public Interest Why Bother? N
Spiritual Pollution Spiritual Pollution 2023
New music from this Oakland-based post-punk band.
Cadê as Armas? Baratos Afins 1995
'80s post-punk from Brazil. Brazil had a vibrant post-punk scene in the '80s, primarily centered in Sao Paulo. Many of these bands were documented in two amazing compilations: The Sexual Life of The Savages from Soul Jazz Records and Nao Wave from Main Recordings.
Balaclavas Down and Loose
Snake People Dull Knife 2011
Second and final studio album from this Houston post-punk band. The vinyl release was limited to 500.
Lenguas Largas You Might Fall L
Come On In Recess Records 2014
Second studio LP from this Tucson band. The label's press release for this LP describes the band as being "[m]ade up of an unholy union of dirty DIY dudes who range from werewolf looking motherfuckers to dudes with cute ass shoes."
Pissed Jeans I've Still Got You (Ice Cream)
Hope for Men Sub Pop Records 2007
From the always enjoyable Pennsylvanian noise-rock band. Here's the official music video, every bit as delightful as the tune. Enjoy!
FACS Slogan N
Still Life In Decay Trouble In Mind Records 2023
Latest release from this Chicago-based noise-rock trio.
The Smashing Pumpkins Cherub Rock
Siamese Dream Virgin Records 2012
Lead single from this classic 1993 record. Billy Corgan insisted on "Cherub Rock" being the first single released; studio execs wanted "Today" to be released first. Corgan won out, but "Today' performed better, which goes to show we should give in to our corporate overlords.
Soundgarden Rusty Cage
Badmotorfinger (25th Anniversary Remaster) A&M 2016
Third and final single from Soundgarden's third studio LP. The song would become a commercial success, later famously covered by Johnny Cash. Cash would win a Grammy for his rendition.
Drug Church Super Saturated
Hygiene Pure Noise Records 2022
Fourth studio LP from this Albany punk band, with slight nods to 90s alternative and grunge sprinkled into its sound.
Veruca Salt Victrola
American Thighs Veruca Salt / Geffen 1994
Debut studio LP from this Chicago-based band, whose lead single "Seether" catapulted the band to commercial success in the mid-90s. But don't sleep on the rest of the amazing cuts on this album.
Ceremony Root of the World
The L-Shaped Man Matador 2015
From California, Ceremony started as a hardcore punk band before shifting to post-punk sonic territory. The post-punk transition is obvious on this, their fifth studio LP.
dust Joy (Guilt) N
Et Cetera, Etc Kanine Records 2023
Latest release from this Australian post-punk band. Recommended for fans of Fugazi and the 90s post-hardcore sound.
Adrenochrome The Pallbearer N
In Memoriam Symphony of Destruction 2023
Debut LP from this Oakland based band that straddles the line between punk and post-punk. Fans of Siouxsie & the Banshees will love this!

O Monolith Warp Records 2023
Lead single from the English post-punk band's forthcoming June release!
The Psychedelic Furs Dumb Waiters
All of This and Nothing Columbia 1988
Post-punk band active since 1977. Recently played at the Rialto, with Tucson seemingly a stop on all their latest tours.
