Music historians cite this song as kick-starting the Goth post-punk sound, though the band stated this was their attempt at recording a dub-influenced track, having nothing to do with the Gothic. This live version dates to a 1982 performance. A shortened version was used to open Tony Scott's 1983 film The Hunger, starring David Bowie and Catherine Deneuve as a pair of vampire lovers. |
