Oh man, I can't believe I just missed some Church of Hawkwind! Oh well. It's never too long since I listened to it anyway.
Wayne Birt (host) 8:19:30 PM
Blink and ya miss it. Between you and I it'll get plenty of spins I'm sure.
Nick 8:22:18 PM
Just lost the radio signal on 93.5, FYI...
Wayne Birt (host) 8:23:23 PM
Okay.
T Gerlach 8:24:12 PM
Cue frantic dive for the PC to pull up the stream...
Wayne Birt (host) 8:25:52 PM
Yes. Go! Got a text out to our ops guy.
Nick 8:30:29 PM
Luckily, we only appear to be missing Peter Gabriel...
Wayne Birt (host) 8:31:12 PM
We aim for timing these things precisely.
T Gerlach 8:32:20 PM
Lucky for me, Wayne went to the station ID right at the outage. I made the save in time. Heard the Gabriel.
Eric Paul 8:32:22 PM
I was gonna say but you already know...off air. LMK if I can help in any way...
Nick 8:32:30 PM
I think it's time to try out all those Roger Waters solo albums you've been itching to play for no one in particular.
Wayne Birt (host) 8:33:27 PM
Thank Eric!
Wayne Birt (host) 8:34:05 PM
Demo show here we come...
Wayne Birt (host) 8:35:05 PM
Maybe more Kansas.
T Gerlach 8:36:05 PM
I'm down if it's deep cuts. No "Dust.." or "Wayward Son."
Eric Paul 8:36:13 PM
Syborg from Joe's Garage!
Wayne Birt (host) 8:36:22 PM
Duly noted.
T Gerlach 9:07:07 PM
This is a fitting soundtrack for the windstorm that's suddenly blowing through.
Wayne Birt (host) 9:12:25 PM
Well put, Mr. Gerlach. Outage in Homedale right up our power line.
T Gerlach 9:17:21 PM
All was calm here when it went out, so I wondered at the cause. Then this blew in.
Wayne Birt (host) 9:18:27 PM
It's so rickety rigged it doesn't take much.
T Gerlach 9:36:34 PM
The upside is, since the PC is on the other side of the room, I have to crank it up. Nice to listen to it loud.
Wayne Birt (host) 9:37:23 PM
I think it's meant to be heard that way. 'specially European Son.
T Gerlach 9:41:47 PM
Yes, indeed. But I always have to laugh at 10 PM Tuesday nights when Dan deLion implores his listeners to turn it up to 11. My kids are in bed, dude-- it stays at 6!
Wayne Birt (host) 9:42:55 PM
Ha. I think it might be his myopia of recently becoming an empty nester.
T Gerlach 9:46:43 PM
I always contend that a good song properly recorded should sound as good at low volume as high. And music like this from Cosmic Invention sounds more mysterious and evocative a little low.
Wayne Birt (host) 9:48:04 PM
Yeah, that's a different animal. Meant to be clear, not necessarily loud. sometimes I think fuzz operates on the myth that if it's loud enough it becomes unfuzzy. Ppshaw!
T Gerlach 9:49:37 PM
Yeah, the best of stoner rock relies on the murkiness of the fuzz, not the volume.
Wayne Birt (host) 9:56:57 PM
Thanks for listening and thanks for hanging with us through the windstorm.
