flattery?
Did you ever hear the remake of a song that
blew the original out of the water? Artists like Cat Power and Jimi
Hendrix (and MANY more) have reinvented songs and given them new meaning
with their interpretation of the material.
The
journey of this show will take you through rock, ska, blues, reggae,
jazz and some assorted goofy music to showcase the relationship of
songwriter and singer by exploring the covers. Each set tends to start
off with a focus on a particular recording artist or writer, and then
things just go haywire from there. Mayhem ensues. And it's fun.
Listeners are encouraged to call in with their knowledge of obscure
recordings.
