Ahhh will def check them out!! I don't keep up that well with lots of nugaze that comes out but it's often good.

Arizona continues to be a hotbed of American shoegaze I guess

Back in the 90s, Alison's Halo, LLC, and Half String were all in AZ

i had no idea! learn something new everyday

I have no clue why they all happened to be in AZ or moved to AZ, but I don't know of any other scene that has a big AZ presence

maybe they like the noisey sound of air conditioners

The story of David Stroughter's death is a very sad, strange one. I believe a friend is working on an extensive Majesty Crush piece.

Yes, I read the police report on it. Very sad and strange indeed...I would love to hear more about that! Majesty Crush is one that totally flies under the radar in shoegaze circles (those exist...)

Totally agree its a magnum opus (on their first try none-the-less). The only album which evokes a similar feeling for me is If Wishes Were Horses by Blueboy, another perfect front-to-back Twee album from 1994

It's a pretty much perfect album in the "sad-twee" kinda bent. No shoegazer influence like Rocketship. I've been saving Blueboy's other 2 albums!! They're also very highly acclaimed

No but their bass player went on to join Mannequin Pussy. They only ever put out one album and some demos but I got to see them a few times. They were great!

Also, you brought up Pitchfork earlier, my favorite thing about Pitchfork is that their domain used to be owned by a farming supplies company

Ahhh that's probs why I haven't heard of them. Missed them by a few years in my musical progression towards harsh wall noise (the journey we all are on ultimately)
