He later left Tunisia to start a jazz career and has lived in Europe since 1990, usually in Paris or Vienna.

Thanks, Krista. Their music sounds like they somehow maintained a tradition distinct from the dominant culture. Not much available, though.

I love this station and all this diverse music. Nothing like it here in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

I rigged up a wire and tied it around my antenna to get you in stereo. It is great hearing you so clear now on 103.3 FM.

Yeah, sadly not anymore... Until the mid to late 80's Southeastern PA had a diverse station.

103.3 is it in my radio world. I have listened since the late 80s or early 90s. It has always been a place to hear something different.

I've been fighting to get you in stereo inside for many years and for some reason it just wouldn't work for me.

Indeed. I try to listen as much as possible. So many different DJs here bring such a wealth of music.

Funny before the rooftop TV antenna fell in a storm i could get you on my stereo for years. After that happened I could never get nice clear reception. But in the last 2 years or so I figured out if I bought some stainless steel wire and clip some off and tie it around my antenna and put it up under a ceiling tile I get you in stereo again and it sounds so clear.

Dave, is your "mid to late 80s" comment a reference to the once-great WXPN?

Indeed. Diaspar changed my life.

I found a similar station which is hard to get called WMUH in Allentown but can't get it where I live. But I sometimes listen online. It is very similar to PRB.

Yes, the Synthesis of Diaspar! I would always have to pay attention during mic breaks and scribble notes.

I'm trying to keep some of that spirit alive on my shows.

Yep, I constantly made lists of things to scour the record stores for!

WXPN is ok but not nearly as diverse as WPRB. I do love Stars End with Chuck Van Zyl

I still run into John DiLiberto and Gino Wong at prog-oriented shows in the area. They were my 2 favorite Diaspar hosts.

And John hosted that syndicated show, too.

Fortunately, with my carefully-place antenna, I'm also able to get a decent WPRB signal. It's on all day, every day now that I'm working from home.
