RIP Eddie Van Halen, who passed away this week after a battle with throat cancer. I always had a soft spot for Van Halen despite hating so many bands that were indebted to them, and I think my reasons why are best summarized in this tweet. I loved Van Halen so much growing up, and to be honest, I haven’t listened much as an adult. But listening all day yesterday, I realized what makes them great, every song sounds like a dog wearing sunglasses. |
