TAINO! First Nation Peoples - Indigenous Peoples Week
After finishing up our Spector-less outtakes of John Lennon's oeuvre from last week's 80th birthday episode, we'll deep dive into the culture, trads, and music of the Taino / Arawak people of the Caribbean, who were already here, and needed no "discovering" when in 1492, Columbus stumbled upon the West Indies looking for China. The chaos, brutality, enslavement, and genocide the Europeans brought upon these gentle and welcoming people was deleted from the "history" of the Americas, but we bring the spirit of the Taino to life!
