Thanks, Readie, for playing Christopher Walken's version of "The Raven." It's probably the best interpretation of Poe's famed poem I've ever heard. Happy Hallowe'en!

Hi Bryan! Yeah, when I first saw it I was transfixed- blew my mind, and the rods and cones in my brain.

Re: Burl Ives ... as you may know, he had a major record hit in the 1950s with "The Ballad of Davy Crockett." He also had great success as an actor on Broadway and in the movies. His biggest film role was as "Big Daddy" in the film version of the Tennessee Williams' play "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof," appearing opposite Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman.

That's right, @Richard, I had forgotten he was in that film- an amazing performance, did he get nominated for an Oscar?

First time listener ... came in at Walken, but also luckily you came on mic to tell me who was what ...thought Suicidal tendencies was Dead Milkmen ... was super impressed that you played prob. my all time fav from the stones ... then Low Spark, OMG ... My time with PRB harkens back to the 70's (New Bruns. High School '72) .

yeah , the 70's with Miles Davis leading the way, was a peak time in all genres. for sure, tho I hardly ever hear it, but so glad when it isn't Boston or any other heard it too many times "classics".

Just found the skinny on portly Burl Ives. You remembered very close: He won both the Best Supporting Actor Oscar and Golden Globe in 1959 for "The Big Country." And -- are you really really ready, Readie -- 1963 Grammy for Best Country & Western Recording for "Funny Way of Laughing." Wow!

I'm still getting WPRB over a roof antenna , 17 miles from Princeton, old school style ... it must be thrilling to realize the whole world is listening now. .. I tried calling 609-258-1033 before I resorted to chat, but it's a no go, it seems. ... I hope the phone line comes back, just cuz I have that number memorized and I call it sometimes while driving and listening.
