Estampie credits 2 female vocalists on this disc, so it could be either Sigrid Hausen or Cornelia Melian. Not further specified.

Well, today's description says "Some music inspired by The Mahavishnu Orchestra", and that sounds good to me!

The Mahavishnu set(s) kick off after the next mic break.

But Mark, I know my vibe tends to be dark.

I love all these Zorn Masada-oriented projects.

Yes. I just discovered them, and am suitably impressed.

Saw Zorn at the Knitting Factory in the early 90's - and was partially deaf for a few days.

I have a bootleg recording of the Masada Marathon shows from 10 or so years ago. Very cool stuff.

Nice. Not many Masada recordings out there.

Have you heard the Simulacrum recordings? He doesn't actually perform with them, but it's metalish organ trio (with John Medeski) playing Zorn compositions.

No, but I'll look into it. Thanks for the tip.

He was at one of their Philly shows a couple years ago, and I think I slightly offended him by asking how much was composed vs. improvised :) He shoved a score in my face and said "I composed all of it!"

Touchy. At the show I saw, Nonesuch was trying to videotape it, shining a bright light

and he almost punched the guy, unscrewing the bulb.
