Hey coming from stitch it’s holiday show / which I enjoyed as a change of pace / just ground the rigg into low gear ⚙️ (figuratively speaking) for this sound

Definitely different vibes lol Stitchin Pink used to follow my show a while back and the mood whiplash was always fun

She's the best!

Mood whiplash a great term / my transmission took a beating gearing down into this

My show also had a great mood whiplash the first season I did it when I followed John Weingart's Music You Can't Hear on the Radio

I always joked that at the start of my show you could hear people turn the dial

Not so much a convert just had to reacquaint and reorient/ looking forward to however show meanders flows or left turns !

I was in the other room watching The Day the Earth Stood Still and heard it and had to enter my PRB radioshack

I'm a huge fan of all our station IDs

I made the number of the beast one that was at the start of the show

like jimbeaux, I missed it

I play it pretty often so I'm sure you'll hear it at some point

it's from the iron maiden song

ISIS was hypnotic, like sleepwalking in a minefield

an interesting visual for this song lol

Deafheaven is probably my favorite example of beautiful poetic metal

it just creates so many visuals and images with its sound and aesthetic

The melancholic rainy city vibes are strong

was that a female voice speaking on Deafheaven?

Yeah! I think it's a friend of theirs reading a poem

don't hear that often in metal

Ah okay so it's an actress, Nadia Kury, reading from the short story Black and Borax by Tom McElravey

I don't know either the actress or the story though

sounded good though with the band playing

also Where The Gloom Becomes Sound is actually kind of a great tag-line for this show
