And yeah saved that band, they we're pretty cool

yeah I forgot the DJ but I heard them played on WFMU and it’s always nice to have more garage rock bands to choose from

hardest part for me is finding the right bangers to start off the show lol

Haha I remember you said that before! Yeah , I started paying attention to you're openers after that and I think you always start off great

And hopefully I'm taking off pressure saying that

And yeah what's fmu like? I've listened a bit and it's been recommended but I end up going back to prb pretty quickly

lol thanks! it does help, I guess it’s just an aesthetic itch I can’t get rid of.. like I feel the song needs to be something that grabs your attention

and it’s got a similar vibe but I think the shows are a little bit more niche-oriented.. I know Mike L had a show there for a few years wayback

I guess since it’s near New York it’s easy to tune into

Interesting, yeah sometimes I tune into kdu (Drexel's station) for similar reasons. And yeah I get that as a dj, so yeah as a listener you're doing a bang up job, definitely always gets my attention. But I can totally relate to the feeling of great, I did it, now do it again!

Ooh I should check them out. Before I think I really enjoyed the fact that a lot of these stations had their own chat rooms, so I’m glad we were able to implement that this year, it helps so much

Oh cool yeah I love to share ideas - and yeah kdu can be good, limited signal range, good reggae, metal, electronic shows, but sometimes the DJs are a little too unstructured, and that's coming from someone who likes unstructured radio and improvising banter lol

lol that was probably like me my first year on the station, jumping from genre to genre with no restraint

yes I did! I thought hurricane and the earlier tracks were fun and hilarious, especially the Dadaist lyrics

It’s a pity PFFR was their last album I think

Haha glad you dug it. Yeah there's some good stuff mixed in there, hurricane is almost a playable on air good song. And yeah I hope they make more music one day .. also , genre hopping is fine it's just a lot of not knowing what to say.. pauses.. but that's college radio!

They do make music in a way, in their shows still, have you ever seen their short, suplex duplex complex?

Love the shags. And yeah it's a one off, there's a few on YouTube but some aren't by creators and I think quality is off. I like this link best

The jokes per minute are pretty dense, it's great though if you're a fan of the rest of their work I think you'll like it

Yeah it was, not sure when it aired but it was under infomercials , which is a bit of a catch all for them

But haha glad you're excited, love sharing that stuff with people. Sometimes I just play it to hear in background

I wonder then if adult swim online would have some of their other episodes.. I know that’s how I caught up with Xavier and the shivering truth lol

but yeah ofc, their jokes-per-minute density is unrivaled, I love it

Hahaha totally, me and my friends joked about the jpm's a lot in college. And yeah there's definitely more stuff on there, not everything though it's weird there's like a clip of similar short with emo Philips but the full thing isn't there

And yeah like other pffr, I think it's super smart with a slapstick veneer that's also legitimately funny. I could go on too long about it lol, watch it first! Then I'll bug ya lol

ooh speaking of which, have you ever watched Scum? A bunch of my friends and I tried to see how many episodes of that show we could endure in a row before calling it a night haha

Oh 100% , spam away! They're really diverse too, you could marathon them and you wouldn't know it at first. Those are good albums. Fun to see live too. And lol yeah a bit but you've probably seen more than me then!

And I forgot they did a self help book.. there’s honestly so much content of theirs It’s insane loll. I think I enjoyed and laughed at some of Scum early on but I think I just get fatigue after a while
