I started the store in 1972 and sold it in 1989. The new buyer continued it in the original location for awhile and then moved it down the street. It was open approx. 5 years after I sold it in '89.

it is excellent...double LP that revisits some classics. good feel for their live shows of past few years. just got it on gold vinyl!

Yes, very good. But very quietly, old Ra releases are being issued. Unfortunately, not by me!

I would still be issuing CDs if the bottom hadn't fallen out of the market.

I have already planned on opening up next weeks show with one of them.

Also got Crystal Spears, which was shelved by Impulse at the time. Trying to get rid of vinyl, but had to make an exception.

I issued Lanquidity on CD also, licensing it from a friend in Philly who was once associated with WXPN. A special album!

I think I first saw Sun Ra at the Palestra. It was so smoky I could hardly see the stage from my balcony seat.

I used to live in the Arkestra's neighborhood and I would check out their LPs from the nearby public library.

the whole stage was full of musicians, at one point it seemed the stage was throbbing

no where to walk in Bucks except for crowded parks, though Washington Crossing park has become a favorite of late

In Bucks County, Core Creek Park is an overlooked gem.

the Jersey side of the river pretty cool too but the hills must be a nightmare to bike

The hills are our friends; they help us get in shape. Or that's what I tell myself.

was at Core Creek last summer, has its own feral cat colony well looked after

I'm glad everyone here is staying in better shape than me.

Shhh there are parts of Nockamixon park that may be closed to cars but you can walk to them from the marina parking lot that is open to cars. Not too crowded

It doesn't matter who plays this composition, it always sounds great.

Written by the excellent pianist Jimmy Rowles, this composition "stuck" and is performed by many.

Yes they had a Jimmy Carter rock n roll president special but a lot of it was Jazz peopke.they showed the Salt Peanut performance.

I think I've heard the Dizzy/Jimmy duet on prb before! You and or Will C played it no doubt

I'd love to experience that again. It showed Dizzy was crazy and President Carter was cooperative.

It was Ian Anderson's effusive praise that made me look into Roland Kirk.

By the way, there's an excellent Kirk documentary on Amazon Prime with lots of performance footage.

I always say "The Blues has a lot of stickers on its suitcase and stamps in its passport" . It took England and Euro bands to cover blues songs THEN young US musicians heard THOSE versions and covered those arrangements

I saw a documentary about the blues in UK and it had a bunch of people we dig performing with eachother, one was Van Morrison. Another was Tom Jones, and in the video he is singling the blues. I loved it. Van Morrison was great too
